The Launch

Yesterday, Aidress.ai launched on Hacker News as "The Coordination Layer for the Agentic Economy." Built by Mehul Vig and Kabir Sadani, it's an open-source discovery and trust registry for autonomous AI agents. The pitch is compelling: AI agents deployed at scale have no shared way to discover, verify, and transact with unknown counterparties.

Google's A2A protocol handles messaging. Coinbase's x402 handles settlement. But who handles discovery and trust? Aidress aims to be that layer — the "DNS for agents."

A deployed agent in 2027 might follow this flow:

  1. Register on Aidress → get verified identity + trust score
  2. Discover counterparties → Aidress matches by capability

Will Aidress add native payments?

If they build their own settlement layer, the lines blur. But building payments is hard — there's a reason Stripe took 10 years.

Lightweight identity (API keys, DID) is already supported. Full trust scoring may not be necessary when trials reduce risk.

Who wins the discovery layer?

The answer might be "both" — Aidress for agent-to-agent matching, minia2a for agent-to-API discovery. Different use cases, different search paradigms.
